Black Mental Health Day March 1, 2021 March 1, 2021 marks the second annual Black Mental Health Day, recognized by communities across Ontario. On Black Mental Health Day, we are called to recognize the ongoing impact on mental health that results from experiences of anti-Black racism. It is also a day to raise awareness of the specific mental health needs of Black communities across Ontario.
This year, DCDSB proudly presents…
Asante Haughton, Mental Health Speaker and Advocate Blacked Out: Impacts of Race on Mental Health March 1, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.

Asante will share his experiences, wisdom and knowledge of all the obvious, and not so obvious ways race and racism impact how we think about and access mental health. Asante hopes that his presentation will resonate with those who share similar experiences moving through the world.
For those who don't, Asante hopes it will open eyes in such a way as to promote conversations and more importantly action from non-Black allies.
